What should you do to get a skatepark built in your city? Check out our little download.
Here are some steps you can take to help build a skatepark in your city:
Gather a group of people interested in skateboarding and ask for their support. This could include other skaters, local community leaders, parents and teachers.
Find a place where a skatepark could be built. You can ask for the support of local local authorities, NGOs, non-governmental organizations, or private corporate businesses.
Start collecting signatures of support for the construction of a skatepark. You can collect signatures on the street or via the Internet. The more people support your initiative, the greater the chance that it will be implemented.
Contact local authorities and present your arguments for building a skatepark. Prepare arguments why a skatepark would be important for the local community and what benefits it would bring to people in your city.
Consider fundraising for the construction of the skatepark. You can contact local businesses, NGOs and residents for financial support. You can also consider organizing fundraisers or other activities to help raise funds to build a skatepark.
If you manage to convince local authorities to build a skatepark, be ready to work with them to develop plans, agree on construction costs and timelines, and monitor progress.
Remember that building a skatepark can take time and require a lot of work and commitment. However, it's worth it to fight for your dreams and work to create a place for you and other skaters to ride.
