How to get a Flowpark in your city?

Flowparks are places full of life, health and energy that transform urban spaces into places of meeting, activity and integration. If you dream of having such a place in your city, this guide is for you! Learn how to organize a project step by step, get funding and make your vision a reality.

Get a workout in the middle of the city!

Step 1: Gather the community

The first step is to mobilize the local community. The greater the support, the greater the chance of success!

  1. Hold meetings - Gather residents who share your vision.
  2. Create a petition - Petitions signed by a large number of residents show that the initiative has real support.
  3. Set up a group on Facebook or other social media - Build awareness, inform about activities and gain supporters.

Goal: Show officials that the Flowpark project is important to the community.

Step 2: Contact the office

Find the right people in the city or municipal office who deal with sports, recreation or urban planning. Key arguments to make:

  • Health benefits - Flowparks promote physical activity among youth and adults.
  • Youth activation - Creating a space that provides an alternative to screens.
  • Improving the quality of life in the city - Flowparks are also meeting places that integrate the community.

Prepare specific data, such as statistics on the use of similar facilities in other cities, and present a location that best suits such a project.

Step 3: Funding proposal

Finances are a key part of any project. Present officials with a variety of financing options, such as:

  • Citizens' budget - More and more cities in Poland are making part of their budget available for residents' projects. Submit Flowpark as one of the ideas!
  • Public-private partnerships - Work with local companies or sponsors.
  • Grants and subsidies - Government or EU programs that support the development of sports infrastructure.

Remember that a detailed design and cost estimate increase your chances of getting funding.

Where to get funds from?

Wondering where to get funds for construction? Here are some options:

  • Citizens' budget - Local residents decide where to allocate some of the city's funds.
  • Local initiative - Cooperation with the municipality on community projects.
  • Support from institutions and sponsors - Housing cooperatives, banks, private companies can support the initiative.
  • Sports grants - National and EU programs dedicated to the development of sports infrastructure.
